Make an Impact Beyond the Cockpit

Not every volunteer flies an airplane or drives a passenger. Ground Crew volunteers use their time, talents, and passion to support the programs that make every Angel Flight West mission possible.

Whether you’re greeting guests at an event, helping organize community outreach, assisting with fundraising efforts, or supporting special projects, you’ll play an important role in helping patients access the care they need. In-person and remote roles are both available.

Find Your Way To Help

Whether you enjoy connecting with people, organizing behind the scenes, writing thank-you notes, or using your creative talents, there’s a place for you on the Ground Crew.

Mission Fulfillment

Help our Mission Operations team connect passengers with volunteer pilots and Earth Angels by assisting with outreach and mission fulfillment phone calls.

Volunteer Engagement

Help our Volunteer Services team connect with pilots to keep them engaged and flying.

Donor & Volunteer Appreciation

Show gratitude to the people who make our mission possible by sending thank-you cards to donors, supporters, and volunteers celebrating mission milestones.

Events & Community Outreach

Represent Angel Flight West at fundraising events and presentations to help grow awareness of our mission and connect more people with our services.

Communications, Technology, & Creative Projects

Support our Communications or Tech team through writing, graphic design, photography, videography, social media, marketing, and photo review.

Healthcare Outreach

Build relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, and patient support organizations to help ensure more patients know about Angel Flight West’s free transportation services.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Have a unique skill or don’t see the right fit? We’re always looking for volunteers with a variety of talents and interests and will help match you with meaningful opportunities.

Real Stories, Real Impact

Ground Crew Office Volunteer Ari says, “I love aviation and helping people, and Angel Flight West combines those two things.” Ari volunteers each week supporting the office by mailing materials to AFW volunteers and assisting with other behind-the-scenes projects that keep our mission moving. When he’s not in the office, you can often find him volunteering at events like the Golf Classic, pictured here.
