In the Hangar: Meet AFW’s 3 new Board Members!

Christy DeYoung is Founder and President of Jet RVSM Services, LLC, an Oregon based aviation services company. Jet RVSM combines regulatory expertise and technical writing to assist aircraft operators with international special airspace and equipment authorizations, safety management systems and related flight department FAA-compliance activities. Christy graduated from UC Davis with a BA in English and a minor in Art History. Before airplanes, her passion was riding horses. She was the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) Regional Champion in reining and equitation her junior year in college.

Christy started her aviation career at Cessna Citation Service Center in Sacramento, and shortly after transitioned to Wichita as a customer support engineer in the new Citation RVSM Services Department. She earned her private pilot’s license and instrument rating through the Cessna Employee Flying Club in 2005. While at Cessna, Christy recognized an industry need to assist operators of other types of aircraft with FAA authorizations. The FAA approval process can be frustrating and time consuming, and she realized she could use her expertise to start her own company.

Since founding Jet RVSM Services in 2006, Christy has assisted 5,000+ operators with obtaining FAA authorizations to conduct RVSM, NAT HLA, RNP-10 and CPDLC operations. She has also performed hundreds of RVSM height monitoring flights on a range of aircraft throughout the U.S. and beyond, including Canada, Guatemala, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, UAE and Afghanistan. She also assists the Northern California Business Aviation Association (NCBAA) in their marketing and member communications. When she’s not glued to the computer reading through FAA regulatory material, she enjoys traveling and playing with her twin niece and nephew.
