We’re thrilled to spotlight AFW Board Member Dr. George (Tony) Woodward.
Dr. Woodward is the Chief of Emergency Medicine and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington. He practices as an emergency department physician at Seattle Children’s, where he also serves as the Medical Director for Emergency and Transport Services at Seattle Children’s. He is the Pediatric Medical Director for Airlift Northwest, which provides fixed and rotor wing critical care transport for the states of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.
He received his MD from Temple University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School after having completed a pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
He obtained his private pilot’s certificate during medical school, and an instrument rating while practicing in Salt Lake City (SLC). In the past, he was a part owner of a Piper Warrior (SLC) and a member of Cessna 180 flying club at Wings Field (Birthplace of AOPA) in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.
