We’re excited to introduce Angel Flight West’s new Director of Development, April Tam!
April is a seasoned professional with expertise in event planning, fundraising, program design, and leadership development. A first-generation college student, she has built a career spanning over a decade across higher education, civic engagement, and the nonprofit sector — leading initiatives for organizations including the University of Southern California, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, and Southern California Leadership Network.
Prior to joining Angel Flight West, she spent 13 years at the University of Southern California, most recently serving as Director of Stewardship at the USC Marshall School of Business, In this role, she oversaw the administration of nearly 400 donor-funded scholarships, awarding approximately $20 million each year to more than 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students. During her time at USC, she also executed strategic events and engagement initiatives that deepened alumni relationships, expanded scholarship support among a network of more than 100,000 alumni, and helped raise more than $6 million toward the university’s historic $6 billion campaign.
April earned her Bachelor of Arts in Television and Radio from Ithaca College, her Master in Social Entrepreneurship from the USC Marshall School of Business, and an Executive Master of Leadership from the USC Price School of Public Policy. She lives in Glendora with her husband and three pet corgis, Piper, Sutton, and Buster.
