A Thank You Letter from Passenger Shannon

Our passenger Shannon shares her gratitude to Angel Flight West volunteers and supporters in a letter below for their generosity in 2025.

To Angel Flight West Volunteers, Supporters, and Staff,

I am here to express my deepest and sincerest gratitude for everything you have done for my son Kane and for our family. Your support has made a tremendous difference during a time in our lives when the simplest tasks — like traveling to medical appointments — can feel overwhelming.

Travel is exceptionally hard for Kane. He becomes anxious in crowded or noisy environments, and commercial air travel is especially challenging for him. Knowing he already faces a long road of medical appointments, procedures, and frequent bloodwork, the added pressure of navigating busy airports and full flights only increases his stress. As a parent, it is incredibly difficult to watch him struggle with something that should be simple, especially on top of the medical challenges he already faces.

Because of Angel Flight West, we have been able to make these trips safely and with much more peace of mind. The calm, supportive environment your volunteer pilots provide has helped Kane feel more at ease during a time when he is already carrying so much. Your compassion has given him comfort, and your generosity has given our family hope. Every flight you have provided has lightened a burden we once thought we had to bear alone.

Your willingness to help families like ours — without expectations, without judgment, and with such kindness — shows a level of humanity that is truly rare. You are not just offering transportation; you are offering relief, dignity, and the reminder that we are not walking this journey by ourselves. For that, we are profoundly grateful.

Please know that your efforts have an impact far beyond getting us from one place to another. You have lifted emotional, financial, and physical weight off our shoulders. You have helped Kane feel safer and more supported. And you have given us the strength to continue moving forward during some of the hardest days.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for everything you do. We will never forget your generosity, your compassion, and the genuine care you have shown our family.
