Meet our passenger Aden. Since 2024, AFW along with our partner Alaska Airlines have helped him travel from his home in Alaska to his summer sanctuary at Camp Rainbow Gold. His mother, Crystal, shared the following about his camp experience:
“What a difference these flights have made in the life of my child! Aden had beaten cancer twice by the time he was six, and soon Camp Rainbow Gold became the highlight of every year for him. When he was 11, we moved to Alaska for work and expected that to be the end of his attendance at camp. But thanks to Angel Flight West and Alaska Airlines, he’s continued to go to camp every year.
The friendships he’s built and continues to grow thanks to this camp have been a source of support and strength for him. There is nothing like it up here in Alaska — a place where he’s able to be with other kids who have shared experiences to give him support and, now that he’s 14, also puts him in a position to pass on that support to other kids.
What a gift it has been! AFW and Alaska Airlines make such a difference in these kids’ lives by allowing them to have access to the medical care and support needed for these illnesses that affect their lives forever. We so appreciate AFW and Alaska Airlines for all you do that gives Aden the opportunity to heal and grow with kids like him. Thank you!”
